Why You Should Consider Living in a Master Planned Community

When my youngest child moved out, I was left living in a large home by myself. Weekend visits from the grandchildren only filled the space part of the time. The home became more of a burden as each day passed. It was not until I was working with my real estate agent to sell my home and find a smaller home did I realize that there were so many others in the same position. I created this blog to help other empty nesters explore their options for downsizing and to provide guidance on finding a new home that fits in more with their lifestyle.

While looking at homes for sale, you might have dismissed master-planned communities as a viable option for you and your family. You might think they are cookie-cutter neighborhoods with not much to offer you. While in the past that might have been true, modern developments have created unique and fun neighborhoods for the owners.

Here are some reasons you should consider living in a master-planned community. It just might be the right fit for you.

They Are Safe Neighborhoods

One of the top reasons for choosing to live in a master-planned community is that they are designed with safety and security in mind. In fact, master-planned neighborhoods typically are gated and/or have a security patrol patrolling the streets every day. This can keep your family safe and your home secure.

Many of them offer security features in the home too. When you buy a home in a master-planned community, for example, when you look at homes for sale, you will find many have security cameras, motion sensors, and more to protect you and your family from intruders.

There Are Many Amenities

You might think that master-planned communities don't really offer much in the way of amenities, and since they are built a little outside the downtown areas of a city, there isn't much to do there. That isn't true. Many master-planned communities have many amenities and are actually geared toward the area they are in. Developers understand the type of buyers who will be interested in a particular neighborhood and strive to provide amenities geared toward those people.

For example, when you search for a home in a master-planned community, you may find country club-style amenities such as a swimming pool, golf course, community center for gatherings, and more. There could also be a water park or amusement parks, bike and hiking trails, shopping and restaurants, and more.

They Are Customizable Homes

When most people think about master-planned communities, they think that every house will look the same. In recent years, that has changed a lot, and now the homes within these planned neighborhoods are customized to suit the family that will live there. Builders will provide buyers with a range of options for types of houses, styles, and designs. You can even design the interior how you would like it.

A master-planned community can help home buyers to make their homes their own. This means customizing their landscaping, their kitchens, choosing the flooring you want, and potentially even the style of windows in the home. Master-planned communities' homes don't have to look exactly alike. They are actually designed for each home to look a bit different yet attractive.
